I have a chevy 2002 s10 blazer with heater problems. Vent and defrost work fine but when you switch it to floor it hesitates a few seconds and then the hot air comes out the defrost near the windshield. My hvac blows hot and cold but all vents are open except driver and passenger feet vents. Since then i cannot get any heat to floor vent.

I move the selector to floor and it comes out the defrost vents. The heat ac system does not blow air out of the floor vents. All other settings work normally and all temp and fan speeds setting work normally. When the mode is selected to floor or bi level the air comes out the defrost vents.

The first step would be to check the vacuum supply hoses under the hood make sure they are properly connected with no leaks and vacuum is being supplied to the vacuum line heading to the interior. Also it only works on 5 it sounds like you have two problems. It blows out the floor vent and the defroster vent but it won t change and blow out the dash vent.
